- This page is set up to highlight the Downtown Dog Rescue dogs and events. There are so many wonderful stories to tell about the dogs that we have taken into our rescue from Skid Row, South Central Los Angeles, Watts, and Compton. For many of our dogs, living with a homeless person was their first "real home". For others, their life wasn't so good, they were abandoned at the South LA shelter and scheduled to be euthanized. A small percentage were fought and thrown away on the street to die. Check out the stories of where the dogs started, their progress, and adoptions into their forever homes!
